Straight Cutting Monocryl Absorbable Sutures, Size 3-0, 27" Length are sterile, synthetic sutures composed of a monofilament polymer known as poliglecaprone 25. This material offers excellent pliability and uniform diameter, promoting smooth passage through tissue. The straight cutting needle design is suited for use in areas requiring clean, linear penetration such as skin and fascia layers.

The Monocryl suture is engineered to cause minimal tissue reactivity, making it a preferred alternative to chromic gut. It offers reduced tissue drag and eliminates fraying during application. The monofilament structure contributes to smoother handling and improved glide, especially in subcuticular and mucosal closures.

These sutures are commonly used in the approximation and ligation of soft tissues. Indications include bladder surgery, gastrointestinal anastomosis, subcuticular closures, reproductive tract procedures, and selective fascia closures, particularly in young and fast-healing individuals.
